Investment

The selection of the investment strategy for a pension scheme is an area where the full impact of the trustees' statutory responsibilities is most clearly demonstrated as underperforming investments and investment managers will directly impact upon the funding of the scheme and the security of the benefits of its members.

Trustees now have a greater choice of investment vehicles and a greater number of investment managers from which to appoint. Yet this is an extremely complex area which can bewilder trustees who have little or no specialist investment expertise.

Pension Partners does not provide investment advice, but is able to assist trustees who are reviewing their investment portfolio and investment advisers by:

  • advising them of their investment duties under the governing documentation of their scheme and under statute
  • providing a legal analysis of selected investment vehicles
  • liaising with selected investment managers and custodians with a view to settling appropriate appointment terms
