Case Study

Resolving Inequalities

We have advised trustees and employers regarding attempts to equalise normal pension age as between men and women and provided pragmatic solutions where attempts to equalise have not, at first sight, been effective.

For example, in several cases we have advised trustees where the documentary evidence of equalisation had been lost as a result of a number of office moves or company sales.  The company and individuals who were trustees at the relevant time collated sufficient evidence to enable the current trustees to resolve that it is reasonable for them to administer the scheme in accordance with the equalisation provisions contained in the missing documentation.
