Dealing with The Pensions Regulator

For example, has there been a type A event?  If so, should there be a clearance application?  Perhaps the Regulator is of the view that the sponsoring employer cannot sustain the scheme's funding requirements and the scheme should therefore be wound up and transferred to The Pension Protection Fund?
